I regretfully don’t do enough art on this blog…Makes me feel like I need an ART for ART blog, rather then lump this in just one tag…but like…what ever. I mostly feel like anything I reblog gets more attention then the stuff I post. ANYWAY, this is Eddie and Shark…I had the idea of just Eddie sitting in this cute way. Just imagine that if animated, he’d scoot his tail end around to drape over the back of the sofa without moving his head from where it’s at now. Also some good bonding between him and Shark. Even though they’re pretty much just co-workers on and off screen, they are great friends for being complete opposite in personal interests. Shark has a name, but Eddie calls him ‘Shark’ because of the bad name that sharks have in the sea being blood thirsty predators, and he feels that Shark represents the best of all Sharks. Friendly, curious, mellow, small and cute, and won’t eat anyone if they didn’t want to be eaten. If you get a nip from shark, he wasn’t trying to eat you…he just wanted a taste.

I’ve been working on Eddie Eel stuff for a long while now. And I’ve wanted to get a good pitch folder together but I really want the experience of pitching and working on a cartoon 1st before I try to get too deep into a production.

But I want to get all my ideas in a show somehow.

Note the little inner set of jaws hidden within the alien’s mouth. Now check out this x-ray of a Moray eel’s jaw… Do you see it? It has the Alien jaw! That extra jaw with extra teeth is called a pharyngeal jaw (in both the Alien and the eel). When the eel bites its prey, the pharyngeal jaws jump out and pull the prey down into the gullet! Yikes! I’ve probably put a lot of you off of Eddie’s charm with this one. He has the 2nd jaw but it’s never addressed much.

THEN Owls…the image of these two designs stuck in my head. I wanted to do more but I needed to write notes. Then Eddie with a new 4 colored pen I bought. They did spend one time in class like…4 min talking about bad jokes.The teacher automatically draws towards the naughty students cause they do the craziest shit. I complain too much about my class though…but it is pretty nightmarish.
